Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
