LA Experiences Record-Breaking Heat Just Days After Severe Winter Weather.
In the wake of heavy downpours that led to inundation across sections of the city, the City of Angels is now confronting unusually warm conditions for late February.

During the day Friday, the thermometer climbed to ninety-one degrees Fahrenheit in downtown Los Angeles, per data from the National Weather Service. This exceeds the prior high for February 27th, which was 31 degrees Celsius (88 Fahrenheit) and was set just last year.
"Exceptionally warm weather" were noted on NWS charts for the region.

The weather service stated that Friday's weather posed an "higher threat for heat illness" for vulnerable populations. Their guidance featured:

- Avoiding outdoor activities during the afternoon hours of the day.

Additional areas that experienced ninety degrees featured Woodland Hills, Long Beach, and Burbank. Elsewhere, Oxnard, Westwood, Camarillo, and Santa Maria were projected to experience the high 80s.
Over Saturday and Sunday, downtown LA can anticipate readings in the 80s, with cooler weather on tap for the start of March.
