The British government is set to progress with utilizing the full worth of frozen Russia's assets to aid Ukraine's defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this unified step would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to come to the table.

They further noted that the decision would be carried out in strong partnership with the US.

United Kingdom penalties have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government initiated its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. However, previously, resources sent to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had solely been drawn from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their aim to drive progress toward using the total worth of the immobilized Russian sovereign funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that additional measures soon would increase the strain on Moscow.

This announcement comes after European representatives convened in Copenhagen last week to consider employing immobilized Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to take or otherwise use seized Russia's assets, as reported by media sources.

The worth of immobilized Russia's holdings in the Europe is assessed to be almost €211bn.
